Treadmill Speed Workout.
Treadmill speed workout this morning! 15mins of 1min sprints with 2mins recovery. Can double the workout for a full 30mins. However, I do think 15mins is a great amount of time for this workout. Follow it up with a lift or strength work. Perfect day! Treadmills sometimes get a bad name, but I think they can be a positive. I have enjoyed doing speed work on the treadmill. Since I am just getting back into adding intervals into my training, I still don’t know the feel of the paces. The treadmill allows me to choose the pace and coast. Eventually I will get a better feel for the pace when…

Treadmill Hill Workout
A treadmill hill workout is a great way to mix hills into your training plan in a controlled environment. Hills are important for both strength as a runner, but also for building a stronger body. With hills you get the best of both worlds a partial strength workout and a cardio running workout. It is also important to practice hills, if your upcoming race has hills. I live in a very flat area, so run hills I would either need to drive to a manmade hill on roads, or use the treadmill. Most of the time I prefer the treadmill because I can create a consistent environment. Below you can…

Below is a workout that allows you to get in some miles and break up the middle of the workout and get the legs moving. I did this run on Monday and I loved it. Remember to chose speeds that are challenging for you, but…

30min Treadmill Speed Workout
Try this 30min Treadmill Speed Workout! Speed work is great for your overall running. It is also great for weight loss if that is your goal. I incorporate speed work on the treadmill because it gives me a controlled space to make sure I am hitting my goal paces. It also allows me to get off the impact of the roads. With speed you are also increasing your impact on the legs. The treadmill will give you a softer surface and create less of an impact than if you did the same workout on the roads. More importantly, you can set the speed and hold on! Personally, I think I…
