Weekly Recap – January 15th -21st
This week overall was AMAZING! I had some struggles but I am see a lot of progress and proof that following a training plan and basic consistency really do pay off! Last Weeks Training Plan HERE Monday January 15th My holiday weekend road trip to visit family was a major success. Sticking with my training plan was an epic fail. I knew this was probably going to be the case when I decided to go on this weekend trip. I am currently only base training so I went in with the mindset that I will do what I can when I can and the goal of just keeping things active.…

Weekly Recap – Jan 8th – 14th
Week 2 has started! This week had some ups and downs, but overall it was a great mix of good running, fun adventures and productivity! Last Weeks Training HERE Monday, January 8th Mondays are technically my rest days on my current training plan. After reviewing previous training logs to see where things went wrong in my years of yo-yo training. It became obvious that when I planned to take a day completely off each week, I moved it around often and used it as an excuse. If the plan was an off day for Thursday and Monday wasn’t going well I would tell myself I can just switch it up.…

Weekly Recap – Jan 1st – 7th
This week was at the start of a new training plan for me. I have done the on and off sort of yo-yo training for a long time now. YEARS. I decided that I was going to be a New Years Resolution person this year. Main Goal: Get back into true racing PR shape for the first time postpartum. Prioritize my personal goals outside of motherhood! Goal: Set Postpartum PRs in All Distances. (Disclaimer: Most of this will be easy because I haven’t raced much postpartum) Goal: Run at least one 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, and I would like to do a full marathon by the end of the year,…

Loving The Speed Work!
We spent the morning swimming. I am actually enjoying our early morning swims. We might be coming to my parents early even when they get back just to get some energy out in the pool. Both the kids and I love it! The storms came in around 2ish. Way earlier than expected. I was able to sneak out for a run around 4ish. It looked like things were clearing up, but there was a chance of another storm coming. I rushed to get out the door to make sure I was able to sneak in a run outside. It was hot and humid but a great workout. I did a…

Treadmill Easy Run
I’m still staying at my parents and don’t feel comfortable heading out on their treadmill in the garage while the kids are sleeping. So I’m forced to fit in a run when the husband can stop by and watch the kids. Today when he came over it was storming pretty bad. I really was going to use it as an excuse to just skip the run. I ate a huge dinner and was about to call it. But I knew I would be disappointed in myself if I didn’t get something in. I opted for the treadmill because the storm didn’t look like it was ending. I did my full…

Speed Session and Leg Day!
Today started off bright and early with a speed workout! I opted for the treadmill for this one. I like that I can set a pace and just hold on. I know to get better at pacing I need to get outside more. My goal is to get to the track more. Until then I will stick to the treadmill. I did a one mile warm-up, then 6×400 with 400 walking recovery. I started these out a little slower than last week. This was because I was doing them fasted and first thing in the morning. I sold myself short. I could have started way faster. It is nice to…

Off Day and 3 Mile Easy Run
Took Sunday off to go to the beach and have a cookout with family! There is nothing better to me than starting the morning off with coffee at the beach. Today I did an easy 3 mile run. The goal was to keep heart rate extra low. However, I saw a friend (see below). After that I had a hard time getting my heart rate back down. With that said, it was probably dead because on my way back it was in the exact same spot. Still freaked me out! Tomorrow will be an off day to spend the 4th of July with family! Four Easy Miles
Morning was a rough start. I’m exhausted. I’ve been sleeping so bad the last few nights. Nothing a few cups a coffee couldn’t solve! We ran some errands, and then relaxed a little it was the perfect Saturday morning. Around noon we headed over to my parents house for some swimming and hanging out. When I got home it took everything in me to get out the door for a run. The weather was hot, it was humid, I was full from eating crap all day, I could just add on miles tomorrow, it’s been a rough week, I should just take an off day to recovery. ALL THE EXCUSES! …

Family Lift and After Bedtime Run.
Decided to sleep in again, because sleep has been a little non existent the last few days. The dogs are crazy when my husband is gone. I love that they are trying to keep us save but the constant high alert walking around makes for rough sleep. I went to the chiropractor in the morning. It’s still going really well. Today we did a little more stretching than normal and I loved it. Then we did more house work before spending a few hours swimming. We came home and got Pizza Hut for dinner. I ate some breadsticks and a half of pizza melt… which is not great fuel before…
