Chiropractor Week 2 Recap!
Chiropractor Week 2 Recap! I can’t believe week 2 is already in the books! Daily recaps is below. Cliff notes: Started rough, ended more positive! Monday. I am feeling sore and uncomfortable. I had another adjustment today. My whole right side is more tight than when I started. Hoping it’s a get worse before it gets better thing. The doctor recommend that I try and sleep with the at home wedges and rollers. I went for an after toddler bedtime two mile run on the treadmill. I am running only two miles still and now extra slow. The first mile felt a little rough, the second mile felt better. Tuesday. …

Chiropractor Week 1 Recap!
Week 1 of chiropractor work in the books. Chiropractor Week 1 Recap! I think Thursday last week was technically appointment one, but I didn’t fully tell them I was committed to the full treatment plan. So that appointment was more of a basic adjustment. The appointment started with an assistant showing me the warm-up exercises and establishing me as a routine client. The process at this particular office is unlike any I have been at before, but I like it. You start by scanning in and completing a series of four exercises to warm-up your spin. Then you see the doctor for the actual adjustment and treatment. After you lock…

Training Update & Chiropractor Care
This is a much delayed and much needed training update! The problem: Just in case you haven’t been following along for a while, I have been having off and on pain in my right leg. I thought it was shin splints, then tight calves, then maybe my Achilles. Really pin pointing the source of the pain was becoming a guessing game. Anything over four miles and anything faster than 8min pace seemed to bring on the fatigue. I knew my training plan was good, and I was definitely not over training based on heart rate and other biometrics. Getting Help! I decided I needed to seek some help. In the…

Life Lately Sick Again!
To say the last few weeks have been chaos would be an understatement. Things have been stressful with the house and dealing with my right side hurting. I have been frustrated about my injury (I’m scared to call it that because it’s more like a discomfort). Knowing that I let all the outside noise get in the way of my nutrition and recovery has me a little frustrated with myself. I am giving myself a little grace because I know this time will pass and this high stress time is temporary. With that said, I don’t want to lose all the fitness I have worked so hard to gain! Just…

Closing Day & Disney World!
I started Wednesday morning off with a three mile treadmill run, which was the perfect way to start the day! We then headed to our walk through, brunch and later our closing. It was a smooth process but house closing always comes with a little added stress. I’m glad I got a run in early! The day went by fast and was a little nonstop. After a few days of little sleep and added stress, I was feeling extra run down. Thursday started with sleeping in a little extra instead of a run. My throat started to feel a little sore through the night and I didn’t want to make…

Night and Day Difference
Morning workouts result in a night and day difference of a day for me. I had just an okay night of sleep, but I was solo parenting today and if I wanted to get a run in I needed it to be before the kids woke up. I don’t know why I don’t just make it a priority all the time. My days are night and day better when I run first thing. I’m a better parent and I have more energy. I need to make it a priority! My day started around 4:30am. I ran three miles on the treadmill. Still keeping things slow and easy while my right…

Off Day and Potential Injury Update
Today started off with a nice cup of coffee. I back to a basic coffee maker and this morning was my first morning using it. It really hit the spot. The little things in life! I went down a little bit of a rabbit hole last night on google, which I don’t recommend, but I will continue to do. I like to learn things the hard way! After some research, it looks like my right leg problem could be a mild case of Achilles Tendinitis. Which is not ideal. However, from what I ready it looks like I may have caught it early and I don’t need to completely shut…

Week 10 Recap. Sad New.
This week was kind of a bust. My ankle and lower right leg have been acting up a little bit over the course of last week. I would feel the pain slightly when I was running, but a lot more when I was just sitting. It was an achy feeling. I am hoping it is not achilles tendonitis. I decided to let it rest this week in hopes that I can get back up to solid running next week. We close on our new house on Wednesday and start renovations over the weekend. We will hopefully move in at the end of May. I am going to need running to keep…

Week 9 Recap!
My week 9 recap, running went great this week! I started the week off strong, then hit a little slump, but managed to finish extra strong. While I did great with the running, I didn’t do so great with the strength training. It is like I know it is important, but if I am short on time I would rather run. Next week I need to be way better. Week 9 Recap: Killed it on the running. Failed on the lifting! Monday: 5 Miles with Speed work. I did a 2 mile warm up, then 400 meters at 8:34 pace, 400 meter jog, 800 meters at 8:00 pace and 800…

Week 8 Recap
Without sounding like a broken record. I am proud again for this week. It has been harder to plan runs with family in town and unpredictable toddler schedules.
