Training Log

Lauren’s Training Log – July 25th – July 31s, 2022

Monday, July 25th, 2022: This current sleep regression has been rough! One of the kids was up from 11-12 and then again from 2-6. Morning workout didn’t happen. Was able to sneak in a mile run in the afternoon to get something in.

Tuesday, July 26th, 2022: Another night of no sleep. This time both kids were up for the majority of the night. Not morning workout again. I miss them! Was able to sneak in a 3 mile treadmill run during nap time. I drank a decent amount of water, but by bedtime I had a pretty bad dehydration headache, which could also be because I was over tired.

Wednesday, July 27th, 2022: Two kids slept through the night!!! I opted to not set an alarm to either get sleep or not be overly frustrated if we were up for another night in a row.

Thursday, July 28th, 2022: FINALLY! Everyone slept great and I got in a morning workout. Felt amazing! Went for a 3 mile run outside and did a quick push lift and pelvic floor abs. The run felt strong. My paces are slow but my heart rate is doing better so that’s encouraging. It was also 90% humidity so that could have something to do with it. Overall felt really good!

Friday, July 29th, 2022: Off. Long walk with the kids!

Saturday, July 30th, 2022: 3pm, 3 mile run in the Florida afternoon sun. Proud of myself for sneaking it in. We have two sick kids, so sleep has been zero. It felt extra good to sneak in the run. It was hot but I surprisingly felt good, and it was faster than I thought it would be.

Sunday, July 31st, 2022: Sick Day. Ugh! The kids head cold has hit me. Hopefully it’s a one or two day thing and I can rebound quick!

I thought for sure this weeks recap would be about how much of a bust this week was. With two sick kids and not a lot of sleep, I struggled. BUT! I stayed consistent and did what I could. The result. A positive week. It would have been my highest mileage week in a very long time, but I had to cut out Sunday’s run because the sickness hit me. I was bummed! … I did discover that I like the run a little longer every other day schedule. Hoping next week on the off days from running I can add in cycling and lifting. Overall it wasn’t a great week, but I’m proud of staying consistent when everything was pointing to just stop.
