April 14th, 2022 80 Ounces of water. Check! Run at least one mile. Check! Strength workout. Check! It was hot and muggy out! And another night of very little sleep. I kept the run short again and the strength workout to a very short bodyweight workout. It felt really good to stay consistent even when everything around you was telling you to not do anything. April 13th, 2022 80 Ounces of water. Check! Run at least one mile. Check! This is what my watch told me when I woke up this morning. Not what I was going for. A teething child called for a VERY long sleepless night. I kept it simple today. Went on a long walk with the kids to the zoo and then ran a simple mile at night. I’ve been feeling really good! Even with no sleep I felt like I still had some energy today and my mental health stayed strong. That’s a win for me! Let the challenge continue! April 12th, 2022 80 Ounces of water. Check! Run at least one mile. Check! I wasn’t feeling motivated today, but decided it was time to challenge myself a little bit. I did the same 5k loop I did the other day. It felt so good to push pass the thoughts of doing the minimum and running a little longer and faster. My watch told me I hit a new recent 5k record. Week 2 – Day 1 Feeling strong! Week 2 starting strong. I was going to go for a longer run today, but after a busy weekend and a toddler not sleeping well, I kept it to a mile. Each run I’m feeling stronger and stronger. Loving the feeling. As I’ve said a lot before. I’m loving this challenge! Day 6. Crushed! April 9th, 2022 80 Ounces of Water. Check! Run at least one mile. Check! Fasting Blood Sugar – 94. Check! Another day checked off! I knew it would be a busy day so I made it a point to get out for a run first thing. I wish I could make morning workouts a thing more often, but kid schedules make that difficult. Someday. Five days straight! I’m feeling good, and more importantly proud of myself, which is a feeling I haven’t felt in a long time. That was the point of this little challenge. Doing something for myself. Finally holding myself accountable for something. It has greatly improved my mental health. April 8th, 2022 80 ounces of water. Check! Run at least one mile. Check! Lift – Arms & Pelvic Floor Abs. Best Self Challenge Day 4. Another day checked! Again I’m loving this challenge. I have been forcing myself to get out the door just because of this challenge. I need to lift the next three days to meet the additional goal. That is not ideal, but I will hopefully plan better next week. Todays run was short and sweet, and a little faster. Road To Best Self Challenge Day 3 Wednesday: April 6th, 2022 I am proud of myself today. We had a busy day ahead that was a little unplanned. I didn’t know when we would get home, and usually I would have just said I won’t workout today and just go with the flow for the day. Challenge Day 2! Success! Tuesday, April 5th, 2022 Drank 80 ounces of water! Ran one mile Fasting Blood Sugar – 96 I came close to skipping running today. Posting about the challenge helps hold accountability. My legs were feeling the little lifting session I did yesterday. I was proud of myself for getting out and committing to the mile a day.
