Lauren’s Journal: The Start

I am using this space as more of my open journal to track my journey and keep me accountable!

I’m going to start my journey officially on January 4th. I’m going to take this week to slowly ease back into working out… and eating less. I’m going to take my before pictures and my starting weight starting on Monday.

A little background about me. I have always been athletic, was a multi-sport athlete in high school playing soccer and running track. I was most successful in track and field and went on to compete at the D1 level. Fast-forward 11 years later and I’m a mom to two babies under the age of two. Currently 3 months and 22 months. Saying life is chaos is an understatement!

After two pretty close pregnancies, I’m readying to not only get back into shape, but get in the best shape of my life! I have learned quickly as a mother, that if I give myself the time and energy to workout or do something for myself I will be happier, and more energized; which directly translates into being a better mother and overall happier human.

 

Today’s workout: 20mins

  • 8 minute EMOM – two rounds
  • Bench press – 3 sets increasing weight, lower reps (10,8,6) (Jump rope 2mins between sets)

I plan to keep this week short and simple and see how different workouts feel.

My treadmill arrives tomorrow and operation get into 5k shape will start. Treadmill running because running in the freezing cold and snowy weather just isn’t for me anymore!
