Time Trial: The Starting Point!
Time trial morning. I did a four minute warm up. A 3.11 mile run (a mistake when I created the workout!) Then a 10min mostly waking cool-down. It felt good and hard at the same time. The first half felt great. The second half felt hard but I still felt strong. I did stop for two or three very quick walk breaks when I felt like I couldn’t sustain the pace. I need to get better at just slowing down the pace instead. There was some obstacles on the path because of the hurricane winds from the previous two days, so I had to slow down a few times for…

A Walk and Birthday Celebration!
Birthday celebrations were the main focus of the day. Our baby turned two. We had morning balloons and presents, a fun day of playing and ended with pizza, cake and ice cream. A fun filled day. I snuck in a walk to quick start some afternoon naps for the boys. It was great to get outside and enjoy the perfect weather. Tomorrow morning I am going to time trial a 5k and see where my starting point is. Then I am going to finalize my training plan to start on Monday! I’m ready!! One Mile & Bike Ride
Today was one of those days where I’m reminded that training plans are so important. Even if you aren’t training for something. They give you a plan to follow, and are harder in my mind to change. I should have written a small plan for this down week. I had zero motivation to do anything today. To be honest the only thing that got me out the door was because I have a pretty long activity streak going on the Apple Watch so I needed 30minutes of exercise. I guess that little motivation tactic works for me. I ran a mile on the treadmill to get my heart rate up…

Hurricane Home Workout
We are riding out the storms at home. We are on the opposite coast, so we are just looking at tropical storm like conditions, but still playing it safe and staying home for the next few days. I was going to try and fit in a run today before the storm got really bad, but it was off and on raining all day and I didn’t want to risk anything. I ended up doing two Flash 15 strength workouts on the peloton app. The workouts were two different 12min EMOM workouts. I love EMOM workouts, they are the best for when I’m just doing strength. It adds in a cardio…

30min Walk/Run
I am still not feeling 100% after traveling. I’ve decided I am going to take this as a recovery week and let my body get back to feeling better before I stress it out some more. I have officially ended my base training phase and next week I’m going to start Project Fast 5k. My goal is to start racing some 5ks. First one will be a Turkey Trout on Thanksgiving. I’m excited for an official goal and some base training. Today I did a 30min walk/run. I’m trying to get at least 30mins of exercise each day. Even if it’s a walk. Today was short and slow, but just…

My Active Rest Day for the Week!
I took today extra slow. We didn’t get back until around 11pm after a long travel day. Back to back nights with little sleep, plus bad nutrition and dehydration my body isn’t feeling great. I’m trying to give myself some grace and know that one weekend isn’t going to derail the work I have put in. I kept today to a slow 30min bike ride. I kept it super easy. I wanted to get the body moving, but not kill myself until I have time to recovery when some sleep and water. I am going to spend a few minutes tonight reworking my training plan. I want to shift and…

Another Off Day
I went for a morning walk. A nice slow walk to enjoy my coffee and the fall weather. I was planning to get a run in before we headed to the airport to head home. The weather had other plans. It was chilly and raining and I just didn’t have it in me. After days of eating pretty bad, not a lot of sleep and a little more stress than normal, it was smart to keep the running at a minimum. I am disappointed I couldn’t get in some quality miles while I was gone; however, I am proud of getting in some sort of exercise every day. A walk…

Three Mile Pre-Wedding Run
Very Rough Three Miles. Three miles in the cold was all I had in me this morning. Between the hills, elevation and chilly weather, it was a struggle. I am glad I went out and did something. Was definitely proud of the something is better than nothing mentality. After the run it took a steaming hot shower and a few cups of hot coffee to feel a little better. I’m ready to head back to my hot humid and flat! More Full Commitment Base Training: HERE More Training Log Posts: HERE Pinterest: HERE

Off Day! Trail Walk & Hike
Decided after travel, lots of eating an drinking that my original training plan probably wasn’t smart or realistic. I’m not training for anything, so as long as I do something I will stay on track. I went for a long walk with a friend in the morning. It was so nice to catch up and hang out with a friend and no kids. Peaceful! Although it was freezing and it will take me weeks to warm up! We then went on a few short local hikes. Getting back out in some nature is great for the soul. I feel relaxed and calm. (And cold!) We are heading out for the…

Three Mile Run Before Airport
4am three mile run before we left for the airport. I’m so glad I decided to get up and get a run in. I ran on the treadmill and kept things pretty slow and controlled. Enjoyed an episode of Good Bones on HGTV and let my anxiety come down for the upcoming trip. I’m excited about our time away and I’m going to enjoy the time and fit in running when I can. I am going to try to fit in a longer run, but if it doesn’t happen that’s okay too. More Full Commitment Base Training: HERE More Training Log Posts: HERE Pinterest: HERE
