Lauren’s Weekly Check-In – Week of July 11th – July 17th, 2022

    • July 11th – July 17th, 2022
  • Please briefly explain your last week: 
    • Training Log Post HERE. Overall I would say it was an average week. Not great, but not terrible. I started out strong but the second half of the week kind of fell off. I am going to commit to morning workouts next week and see if that creates a positive change.
  • Please list at least 3 things you were grateful for/ or positives from the week.
    • 1. The small gym set up with a treadmill in the garage, allows for flexibility with the Florida summer heat.
    • 2. I am slowly getting into better shape, both running and lifting are getting easier. 
    • 3. The kids are finally sleeping through the night consistently *Knock on Wood* 
  • Did you encounter any challenges? How did you deal with them?
    • The afternoon workouts after a long day with the kids and the weather still being hot, it was easier to listen to the excuses and not workout. I am fixing this by changing to morning workouts. I started on Sunday. 
  • Please briefly describe what did you do for your self-care last week
    • Sadly, nothing. I am working on trying to figure out what self-care looks like outside of just getting out to the garage to workout. 

Nutrition

  • Please rate your nutrition and food tracking for last week (1-5) 
    • 3. I wasn’t great, but I also wasn’t terrible. Will try and limit the candy consumption next week. 
  • Are you ready to add Macro Counting? (Y/N)
    • No. I will probably add in Macro Counting after I have a solid workout routine. 

Training

  • Please rate your training (1-5)
    • 3
  • Did you stick to your training plan? (Y/N)
    • No. For the most part I was close, and was mindful of the training plan, but didn’t plan accordingly. Next week will be better!
  • Are you facing any difficulties with your training?
    • No, the struggle was working out after a long day. I am changing to morning workouts. 

Goal Progression: 

  • How do you feel you are progressing towards your current goals?
    • Slowly getting there. Trying to build up a base of mileage and strength before I get back into racing. Wishing it would move faster, but I am slowly chipping away.

Lifestyle

  • Please rate your sleep quality for the last week (1-5)
    • 3. I slept okay, a lot of tossing and turning. Need to get back onto taking Beam before bed, it helps so much!
  • Please rate your digestion (1-5)
    • 2. I need to work on my fiber intake!
  • Please rate your stress level (1-5)
    • 4. Some of this is self-imposted stress. I have been struggling with finding a balance of motherhood and taking care of myself. I am craving and outlet outside of motherhood. Still working on what that is. 
  • Please rate your energy throughout the day (1-5)
    • 3. I can tell when I workout in the morning my energy level is way better. I think this is in part because my mental health is also substantially better!
  • Do you want to give additional details regarding your lifestyle.
    • I want to get out more and run around with the kids. Go to parks, open fields and run. Something to get them even more active than just me going for walks with them in the stroller.
  • Is there anything additional information you want to provide, or changes you want to make? 
    • I am going to add in morning workouts all this week and see how it goes!
