Workout Wednesday

Finally. Back at it. Workout Wednesday Success! I took some NyQuil last night to try and kick the last of my cough and get a good night sleep. I woke up in that hazy fog and it was in it all day. 

Nutrition was terrible. I snacked on junk food all day. I just couldn’t seem to get full, and nothing was working to curb the cravings. 

It had all the markings of a bad day. But I knew I needed to just at least start the workout and see how it went. 

I opted to do the workout on the treadmill to make sure I kept a consistent pace. Figuring out how to take splits on the apple watch took longer than I want to admit.

I debated on what workout I wanted to do today. 400s, 800s, 1000s, miles. I opted for some 800s and a 400. I did a warm-up, 2×800 with 800 walk/run recovery, then 1×400 with 400 walk/run recovery, followed by a cool-down. 

Longer speed work and short bursts of speed was what I was feeling. The splitting distance worked perfect for this. Goal was 7:40 pace for the 800s and 6:40 pace for the 400s.

I took segments (splits) on the apple watch to show myself the time. (Segment 1 – Warm-Up, Segment 2 – 800 Fast, Segment 2 – 800 Recovery… etc).

I really need to start adding back in pelvic floor abs and lifting. Going to make sure I add that back in after my tempo run on Friday. 

Overall this was successful! 

Tomorrow morning I’m hoping to do some easy miles before a day at Disney.
