Shannon’s Journal: My Story
Working out has always been a love/hate relationship for me. I love the feeling you get when you finish a hard workout, but starting the workout is the hard part. You see when I was little I played a sport every season, so there was never a down time that I wasn’t “forced” to be active. Again I loved how I felt after a brutal conditioning session for soccer, but the key part was that I was forced to be there and I didn’t have to plan it on my own. When I went to college I was a tad bit nervous that the drive to stay fit and workout…

Lauren’s Journal- Day 5&6
I took yesterday as a rest day! I think I am liking the Friday rest day! It’s nice to sleep in and then relax with the family at night! I did get up early and finish my UESCA Running Coach Certification. I passed! I am excited that my sister and I can really start to move forward with coaching and ebooks now. I am also excited to take what I learned and write my own training plan! Today I did some lower body, in the form of two EMOMs. It was a tough workout but the burn felt so good. I then followed it up with a 15min Peloton low…

Lauren’s Journal – Day 4
Morning Workout. Check! I should have checked the app before I set my alarm, so that was a little bit of a fail. The workout today was active recovery, but it was still nice to get movement in before everyone woke up for the day. I decided to do a Peloton Spin Class. A Country Ride. It was everything I needed this morning. I then followed it up with some simple beginner yoga to get some stretching in. We added to your 1000 hours outside today! According to the news this morning today was the first day of decent sun since December 18th. That pretty much explains my seasonal depression!…

Lauren’s Journal – Day 3
Anxiety is a funny thing. For me it comes and goes all day every day. Yesterday was a great day, but them as I went to bed. Boom! Anxiety hit and I laid in bed just replaying everything negative in my life over and over again until it was 3am and I still hadn’t fallen asleep. So I decided to turn off the alarm and wake up with the kiddos and do my work out after they went to bed. It worked out amazing because they both slept until 7:15! I work up determined to make today a great day. Fake it till you make it right?! I have decided…

Lauren’s Journal: Day 2
Sleep in our house is finally clicking for both kids. Both kids sleeping through the night translated to my first morning workout in what feels like forever! I thrive in the morning. It is my favorite time of the day. I was up at 5:15 ready to workout by 5:30. My 1st Phorm challenge workout today was a 30 minute EMOM. Morning Workout and an EMOM. I was here for it today. I even finished with enough time to work on my UESCA Certification while drinking a cup of coffee in silence. It was a great way to start the day! My nutrition game was even better today than it…

Lauren’s Journal – Day 1
Can you tell what’s wrong from the picture below?! Yup, my treadmill is broken. As I’m waiting to see if we can fix it. I decided to start the 1st Phorm Challenge workouts today! And running will start, as soon as, my treadmill is up and running (crossing my fingers and toes that it happens this week!). I’m treadmill running because you know 2 kids under 2 doesn’t allow for much free time during day light hours… and it’s freezing and always snowing here and I’m not here for running in the snow. Today was my day one of the challenge. I filled out my profile, took my before pictures…

Lauren’s Journal: Current Plan & 20min EMOM
The start of a new year brings a nice fresh start. The fact that the new year also comes when I’m a little over three months postpartum seems like the perfect time to really reset and start fresh. After two kids in two years (currently 3months and 22 months)… I’m so ready to have my body back and to work towards the best shape of my life. I want to focus on the process and the journey instead of longing for the end result. My end goal is to be in great running shape but also strong! So bring on the balance of running and lifting. Current plan: January 4th…

Lauren’s Journal: Circuit Workout and Current Goals
HAPPY NEW YEAR! New Years resolutions. People either love them or hate them. My feelings are a little in the middle. If we are being honest 2020 was a hard year. I don’t normally make New Years resolutions, I’m usually a goals person. But I haven’t set goals in years. I have been a little lost in the pregnancy, postpartum, new motherhood journey; but, I’m ready to get a little piece of myself back. I’m ready to set goals. I’m ready to give myself a little extra self-care and time so I can be a better wife and mother. Current Goals: Within the next few days I’m going to work…

Lauren’s Journal: The Start
I am using this space as more of my open journal to track my journey and keep me accountable! I’m going to start my journey officially on January 4th. I’m going to take this week to slowly ease back into working out… and eating less. I’m going to take my before pictures and my starting weight starting on Monday. A little background about me. I have always been athletic, was a multi-sport athlete in high school playing soccer and running track. I was most successful in track and field and went on to compete at the D1 level. Fast-forward 11 years later and I’m a mom to two babies under…
