Four Miles. Negative Splits!
Morning run the day after a long day in the sun. It was a struggle to get up, but once I got out there I felt better than expected. Tried this new to me thing called starting slow, it made the whole run more enjoyable. I was able to run each mile faster and the final mile didn’t feel as much of a struggle. Four miles check! I am definitely getting in better shape you can feel it with each workout. I’m excited to add in more speed and volume, but I’m holding myself back to make sure I build up slowly. Active Rest Day at Disney
Disney was fun and exhausting just like always. The kids has a blast. We walked a crazy amount, three parks and the walking path between two of them it added up quick. It was definitely an active rest day! Walking around Hollywood Studios. Walking path between Hollywood Studios and Epcot Had a blast running around! It was a fulfilled day, but my legs are tired and I’m crazy dehydrated! Operation water intake tonight before my run tomorrow. Hoping to get in a run around sunrise again tomorrow! Four Sunrise Miles
Morning run. Check! I was able to get up have some breakfast, coffee and water and then head out around 6:30 for my run. It was amazing. The fuel before helped so much. It was also nice to catch the sunrise during the run instead of starting and ending in the dark. I am feeling stronger each run, and a lot of my walk breaks now are more mental I think. I need to find a better loop trail and try that out. The out and back routes that I have been doing get in my head a little. We spent the rest of the day hanging out by the…

30min Bike and Strength for Runners & Missed Alarm Regret
Had everything ready to get in a morning workout… then we had a 12:30am wake up from a toddler, and then he landed in our bed around 1:45am. The 4:15am alarm got turned off quick. Which I’m still a little mad at myself for. I always regret not waking up and knocking out the workout! We took the kids to a play area and ran around for a few hours, then ended the day with some swimming. Around 5pm I did a Peloton Cycling Ride and a Peloton Strength for Runners Class. It was nice to be able to get the workout in without having to think about anything! It is…

3 Miles to End Week 2
It was a rough day! I woke up stressed and anxious and it seemed to get worse every second. I was able to sneak in three miles on the treadmill. They were hot and sweaty but we got them done. I do still enjoy the roads more, but there is something nice about a controlled pace and distance. It’s easier to zone out. Week 2 of training is in the books. I’m am extremely proud of myself for sticking with this plan. It is creating more and more confidence. It’s also nice to know I will have a little bit of time to myself to work towards some goals each…

Five Morning Miles & Kids Race
Morning run. Check! So glad I decided to get up early and knock out the run. I ended up splitting the run, did part on the treadmill and part on the roads. I knew I wanted to get the full five miles in, and the treadmill helps me keep my pace even and in check. 2.8 miles on the treadmill and then 2.2 on the roads. I definitely didn’t eat enough before running, which for me is the hardest part about early runs. I took a GU before but I don’t feel like it really did anything. Playing around with different quick breakfast options to see what will work best…

EMOM – Kettlebell Only
Kettlebell EMOM This workout can be added on after a run, or done on its own. I used throw a kettlebell in my trunk and drive to a local trail or running path. Do a quick tempo run, or run with speed built in, and follow it up with a few rounds of a kettlebell circuit. EMOM workouts are my go to when I know I need get in strength work, but I’m lacking motivation. They are a start the clock and move. They don’t give you the option to really stop and think about quitting until the workout is over. Playing some mind tricks to get in the work,…

Tired & Active Rest Day
Kept the active lifestyle alive. We were all moving very slow this morning after the last few days of extra fun. We relaxed a little and then packed up and headed out for walk. We kept in shorter and a little slower to allow for some more rest before my longer run tomorrow. I’m excited to see where my fitness is at for the long run. Still deciding if I want to wake up early and knock it out or wait until later. There are pros and cons for both. Probably make the decision before I go to bed tonight. We then spent the afternoon hanging around the house, lot…

More Disney and Late Run
I’m exhausted. The Disney magic really takes it all out of you! We stayed at the local campground. This morning we playground hopped to a bunch of playgrounds, swam in the pool, then made our way to Magic Kingdom for lunch. It was a full day! We made our way back home late afternoon. I was going back and forth it I wanted to take today as an off day and push my run until tomorrow. I decided I wanted to be more fresh for my longer run this weekend so I did a slow three miles on the treadmill. The treadmill helps me keep my pace in check, helps…

Aqua Jogging and Disney World
Busy day ahead! We will be making our way to Disney to camp and explore this afternoon. We headed to the pool early, for a double win. Get the kiddos nice and tired for some car naps and for me to get a quick workout in. My new aqua jogging belt came in yesterday so I tested that out. Aqua jogging is always way harder than I think it’s going to be. I did 10mins of jogging then 5mins of swimming laps and finished it up with 5mins of more aqua jogging. After the pool work I did a quick 10min bodyweight lifting class via the peloton app. I am…
