Easy 3.5; Daylight Savings Time Change is Rough!
Easy 3.5 miles this morning. Was planning for 3-4 miles so I was right in the middle! Daylight savings is causing some issues with our toddlers. My oldest woke up when I was about 2 miles in. I had to pause quick and put him back to bed. We are trying the don’t leave until the light turns green trick. Today was day one. It resulted in him waking up his brother and everyone awake at 5am. But! They pointed to the light that I turned green, when I finally gave up and opened the door. I am taking that as progress. After the early wake up from the kids,…

Back at it!
The stomach bug got me for a few days last week, but I am back at it! I was out of the game for most of Thursday, Friday I didn’t leave bed, and Saturday I took it easy. After Friday of laying low all day in bed, I had a ton of energy on Saturday it was hard to take it easy. I am taking advantage of the falling back an hour and getting back into morning runs. Sunday morning I did an easy three miles. I could have probably gone a little longer, but the kids woke up and I didn’t want to push my body too hard. This…

Are Running Streaks Good or Bad?
I ask myself this question often. Are Streaks Good or Bad. Mostly in reference to fitness. I’ve tried running streaks in the past (see HERE). They always tend to lead to burn out and taking too much time off and starting from scratch again weeks or months later. Most recently I got an Apple Watch. I switched from my Garmin because I wanted the ability to leave with my kids and not carry my phone but still feel like I could call for help. I also made the switch because I was becoming to hyper focused on stats and needed a break. Fast forward 88 days later and I’m sick…

Walk Bike and Lift
Today was supposed to be a speed day. A toddler up all night and slight dehydration after my easy run caused a change of plans. I spent the morning deep cleaning the house. Once the kids started to get too restless we went for a walk. I was a little over 1.5 miles out on the trail, when I noticed the tire of the double stroller. The walk home was a struggle. I ended the night with a bike ride and a lift. It was my first ride with the Apple fitness app. It was different than peloton but was still a good workout. This particular workout was all intervals…

Easy Run & Walk
On the schedule today was an easy run, and I added in a walk. I was planning to do my run later in the day, then around 2:30 one of the kids needed a nap. We took the nap outside on the walk! Todays workout was a four mile easy run. A few walking breaks were added in to keep my heart rate under 150. I am starting to think the heart rate on the apple watch might be a little off. I wasn’t breathing hard and the effort felt easy, but my heart rate didn’t indicate that. Could have also been because of the heat and humidity. Either way…
