Lauren’s Journal: Best Self Challenge Day 5.
Five days straight! I’m feeling good, and more importantly proud of myself, which is a feeling I haven’t felt in a long time. That was the point of this little challenge. Doing something for myself. Finally holding myself accountable for something. It has greatly improved my mental health. April 8th, 2022 80 ounces of water. Check! Run at least one mile. Check! Lift – Arms & Pelvic Floor Abs. Check! Fasting Blood Sugar – 99 (still under the 100, but not good!) Excited to have successfully made it Monday-Friday! Can’t wait to go into the weekend. Going to try and add in some additional mileage and a few lifts. Let…

Lauren’s Journal: Best Self Challenge Day 4
Best Self Challenge Day 4. Another day checked! Again I’m loving this challenge. I have been forcing myself to get out the door just because of this challenge. I need to lift the next three days to meet the additional goal. That is not ideal, but I will hopefully plan better next week. Todays run was short and sweet, and a little faster. We had some ran in the forecast so I tried to sneak in a run in the break between storms. April 7th, 2022 80 Ounces Water. Check Run a Mile. Check Fasting Glucose – 96 I can already feel myself sticking to this challenge for a while.…

Lauren’s Journal: Best Self Challenge Day 3
Road To Best Self Challenge Day 3 Wednesday: April 6th, 2022 I am proud of myself today. We had a busy day ahead that was a little unplanned. I didn’t know when we would get home, and usually I would have just said I won’t workout today and just go with the flow for the day. Instead I woke up early to get a run in and to get in a chuck of my water intake. With all that said. Boxes were checked! 80 Ounces of Water. Check! Run at least one mile. Check! Fasting Blood Sugar Test. Check! (99) I need to work a little better on my diet…

We have officially made it back to the south and I couldn’t be more excited! The power of sunshine is amazing! Race Recap (Written back in November) First off the race was at the beginning of November. Lauren’s Journal: Exploring & Perfect Morning!
Exploring! We took a much needed Friday in the mountains. We decided late Thursday night that we were going to take off to the mountains and do a little hike to catch some good views. The weather was finally nice enough to get outside and explore and we didn’t want to pass that up. It was the first time in over a year that Mason used the hiking backpack and the first time ever that Maddox went hiking. They both loved it! Maddox was screaming with excitement almost the whole time. It was so fun so watch them be so excited about seeing new things. It’s now a mission to…

Lauren’s Journal: Thursday Thoughts
I am not sure Thursday Thoughts will become a thing, but I’m in need of a little open journal mind dump. Have you ever had that feeling? Like a… “I just need to get this out and maybe I will feel better.” I am someone who replays conversations and scenarios in their head over and over, and think, rethink and then rethink again what I am going to say before I have a conversation. This is with anything and everything. It’s exhausting! It’s a trait that I would love to change about myself. I’m working on it! A side effect of the replaying of things in my head is the…

Lauren’s Journal: Cross Training is Important!
Thoughts from my cycling class today. First. It was amazing. A good sweat with great music and Cody’s vibe… was everything I needed this morning. I need to make more time for cycling rides and cross training. I love running but a mix of activity is so good for not only my running but also my mental health. I have been pushing off cycling and instead adding more running or rest days into my training plan. My mission now is to make sure I add cycling a couple times a week! Don’t get me wrong. Rest days are VERY important. Probably the most important part of a training plan. However,…

Lauren’s Journal: Catching Up
I feel like a little catching up post is in order. I am going to start posting fun life posts on Thursdays. Thursday Thoughts is becoming a thing! Life has been a mix of crazy and nothing at the same time. Nothing like being the mom of two tiny humans 18 months apart. The weather where we live has been crazy. From the news it looks like that is the case for most people! It has been nothing but rain here for weeks! We are all going a bit stir crazy! We have tried to sneak out during the dry times to get some walks in and play outside. Luckily…
