Lauren’s Training Log: May 2nd – May 15th, 2022

Monday May 2nd, 2022

  • 80 Ounces of water. Check! 
  • Run at least one mile. Check! 

I felt strong for the first mile, it was hot and the loop I did was super boring. Need to change up the loop and start running in the morning. Overall I’m feeling stronger! 

Tuesday May 3rd, 2022

I ran early but it was already hot and humid. Felt like you were running and making no progress. More walking on this run, but glad I got out there and went the 2 miles instead of cutting it short! 

Wednesday May 4th, 2022

Ran a quick one mile in the morning before a full day walking around Disney. 

Thursday May 5th, 2022

I almost threw in the towel on the challenge. My legs were dead and my body was begging for a break after a long day at Disney. I went out and walk ran a mile. 

Friday May 6th, 2022

My body was still feeling a little sore today and my shins were screaming a little bit. I ran a slow mile and did a quick lift. 

Saturday May 7th, 2022

  • 80 Ounces of water. Check! 
  • Run at least one mile. Check! 

Moving week is coming up, stress and anxiety are higher than normal. I decided another day of a nice slow mile run would be perfect for the mind and body. So proud of myself for not throwing in the towel on this little challenge.

Morning longer run this morning! Felt good. My body is definitely craving a little break and something different. 

Challenge Review:

This challenge has been great. It has improved my mental strength way more than my physical strength and for that I will be forever grateful. I am going to take 2-3 days off and then rest of the week easy. Then start strong again with a new plan. This time with strength, cross training and running added in!… and a strong push with nutrition.

May 9th – May 15th, 2022: Took the week off to focus on moving. I felt the difference and I can’t wait to get back into a routine.
