Lauren’s Training Log: August 2nd – August 8th, 2021
Another Week means Another Training Log Update!
Back on track! This weeks has been overall great! My runs were faster and I was able to get in move movement overall. I got out for a walk everyday except my Saturday long run!
I still need to figure out a better plan with strength training and running. However currently running is my priority. Getting back into the best shape of my life running wise is my goal! I do know that strength training is needed for that to happen though, so I need to figure out a better mix. My problem is I’m not really enjoying the upper body lower body split. Next week I’m going to do two days a week of the three big compound lifts (Bench, Squat & Deadlift) with two of three full body supersets. Then if I have time a day of TRX full body, with a focus on core work.
My runs were substantially faster this week and I still felt great. I did have to take a few more walking breaks than normal in my long run, but I think I’m going to keep the paces a little faster at least for one or two runs a week and see if I can start maintaining them for longer!
Monday, August 2nd: Walk: 3.6 Miles, Run: 2 Miles, & Strength: Upper Body
Tuesday, August 3rd: Walk: 3 Miles & Run: 3 Miles
Wednesday, August 4th: Walk: 2.85 Miles
Thursday, August 5th: Walk: 4.5 Miles & Run: 2 Miles
Friday, August 6th: Walk: 4 Miles
Saturday, August 7th: Run: 4 Miles *First 5k was a record of this ‘getting back in shape’ training cycle!
Sunday, August 8th: Walk: 3 Miles
Overall I am very proud of this week and I feel like I’m back on track a little. I was able to get outside for two runs, Tuesday and Saturday, it was nice to get off the treadmill and I hope to keep doing that at least twice a week!
