Better Monday
Way Better Monday! Finally back to some morning runs! It’s been a really rough two weeks with this sickness in our house. I can’t believe my cough and runny nose is still lingering. I was about to get up and do a run, strength, shower and a coffee before anyone woke up! Win! I did a three mile treadmill run. Keeping things super slow and focusing on mileage and consistency until the cough is gone. My hip flexors are tight and I can tell my body has been working to fight off the virus because it is a little weak. After my run, I did a quick 10min Peloton Strength…

Week 3 Recap!
Saying things have been a struggle would be a massive understatement. Our house was hit with the crazy virus that has been going around. We are on week two of stuffy noses, uncontrollable coughing, and on and off sore throats. We are all annoyed and grumpy. I went back and forth so many times on if I stick to my training or take extra rest. I moved around some miles last week and took a few extra rest days when the sore throat was bad. Then listened to my body and was able to make up the mileage at a slower than easy pace. Things then got worse with my…

Week 2 Recap!
This week was a mix between great and rough running wise, life wise too I guess. The week started out strong. Thursday morning I woke up feeling a little sick, but I thought it was allergies. Over the course of the day it escalated quickly and it ended up being the worst head cold I have had in years! My cold lingered through the weekend. By Saturday morning all four of us in the house were sick. I still managed to hit the weekly mileage with some extra slow easy treadmill runs, and an extra day off. I am really proud of this week. Both listening to my body and…

Sickness and Long Run
Today consisted of sickness and a long run. The dreaded head cold is going through our house. I have been lucky enough to have bypassed the last few sicknesses that went through the house. This time it got me first. I was knocked down for a good 48 hours. It was probably the worst head cold I have had in forever. I contemplated a run yesterday, because you always hear that if it’s in your head exercise can help. Well I finally decided I felt so awful that I went to bed at 6:30 instead. Today I’m just a little stuffy, but the foggy mind and sore throat are gone!…

Morning Workout and Disney
Started the day with a morning workout, ended the day Disney. Solid day. 4:15am wake up call. I definitely had the internal struggle this morning of if I wanted to get up or take the day as my rest day and run tomorrow instead. I decided that after a day at Disney I’m going to want the morning off tomorrow. Three treadmill miles with some at tempo pace. I’m adding in some speed throughout my base training, to avoid getting bored and keep my body ready for some turn over. In the past that has worked well for me. Anything small I can add that will keep me moving along…

Valentine’s Day, Birthday Celebration & 2 Mile Run
Today was beyond a great day. Our oldest turned four today. We gave him an extra special day and it made my heart happy. He woke up to balloons and presents! I think he was most excited for the balloon! Then we went to a restaurant that allows you to make your own pancakes. Our little guy loved it! He then got to go to Five Below and pick out a toy. He choose trash trucks. Not surprisingly. We are in a huge trash truck phase. Later in the day I snuck away for a 2.5 mile run. I decided to run on the treadmill today to make sure I…

3 Miles and a Lift
We stayed up a little later than normal to watch the Super Bowl and let the kids play late. I opted for an afternoon run and shut the alarm off. Everyone slept till about 6pm. I’ll take it. Seems like every time I turn my alarm off everyone sleeps in. When I set my alarm everyone is up early! We spent the morning playing around the Kennedy Space Center. The kids had a blast. Then they fell asleep on the way home and took three hour naps! Amazing! After naps we went and ran around the playground for an hour and then I got ready to head out for my…

Week 1 Recap!
Week 1 Recap: Week one was rough, but awesome at the same time. Life through every obstacle possible to get me to give up on my training plan this week. But I made it happen! I had to switch my off day around, other than that I hit all of my planned runs and even did a couple lifts that I was only planning to start next week. I would call week 1 a super win! Week 1: Monday – 3 Miles & Lift Tuesday – 2 Miles Wednesday – Off/ Long Walk Thursday – 3 Miles & Lift Friday – 2 Miles Saturday – 3 Miles Sunday – 2…

Three Beach Miles and Lazy Day!
The morning started off nice and slow, and ended with three beach miles. We all finally got a good night sleep so it started off great! We started the morning with some relaxing and watching a movie, the topped off the morning with some cinnamon rolls. Solid Morning! After the last few days, my stomach is screaming at me. I need to get back in control of my diet. Nutrition has and always k as will be my struggle. After a relaxing morning we did some cleaning and watched some more movies. After a pretty rough week, it was nice to have a day to decompress. I snuck out around…

Toddler Life and I Almost Skipped My Run.
Toddler Life, it’s wild. They are trying to kill me this week. We started our day around 12:45am. I am still not even sure what caused the wake up. Which pretty much sums up mom life right! We had a little slumber party on the couch until it was decided that 4:45 would be the time to start playing cars. I did not make that decision! It goes without saying, that my morning run was again cancelled. Do you think they know that I just set giant goals for myself and this week was week one for big training? 🤦♀️. Mom life comes first so we played and cuddled the morning…
