Long Morning Walk
Decided to not push it today with anything more than a walk. The kids are feeling a little better, but my stomach and head are a little off. I want to make sure I do all I can to stay in front of the sickness. I opted for a long walk today instead of a run. I was supposed to do a 30-45min recovery run. With skipping the long run yesterday a recovery run wasn’t really necessary. Hoping that I wake up tomorrow feeling better. Tomorrow I just have cross training on the schedule so it’s one more day of optional rest before my next schedule speed work. I want…

Two Sick Kids & 3 Mile Run
Morning started with two sick kids and ended with a 3 mile run. We woke up to one child with a bad fever and one with a mild one. There must be something going around. It’s been a rough couple days in our house. I’m ready for sleep again! I laid around with the kids for most of the day. Lots of extra cuddles and attention. I planned on a five mile long run this morning, but mom duty was needed instead. When I was able to get out for a run, I didn’t want to push it too much in the heat. It’s hard to judge if you are…

Morning Tempo Run
Got out earlier for a morning tempo run this morning. I have 30minutes total with a 15min tempo in the middle. Goal was 9:40 pace for the tempo. I failed that again. However I felt strong. I did have to walk some of the cool down. If I stayed on the appropriate pace I probably would have been able to finish the full cool down. Either way I am happy with the effort today. I am starting to think I was a little off with my time trial based on my workout efforts. The times I’m running feel hard but not impossible. This could be for multiple reasons. During the…

Rough Day
Today was beyond a rough day. After being up all night with a screaming toddler, I decided it wasn’t smart to try and add on a run today. I opted for a long walk to let the kids sleep. A 5 mile loop was the result. Tomorrow is a new day. Saying all the prayers and crossing all the fingers that tonight is a better night in our house! Four Mile Easy Run
Today called for a four mile easy run. Is there such a thing as a pace coach? Because I need one. I know my paces and I wear a watch that tells me my pace. But I still can’t seem to run easy. I’m mad at myself for running too fast for this easy run. Today I did four miles. First I debated switching an active rest day to today, or even taking it completely off. I was up early with a toddler, who also appears to be getting sick. I was feeling really tired physically and mentally all afternoon. I decided since it was an easy run and the…
