Weekly Training Log: January 2nd-8th, 2023
January 2nd:
Strength Workout – Legs & Pelvic Floor Abs
Run – EasyTreadmill Run – 2 Miles
Recap: Leg Day, Skipped Speed Day, Easy Run! Leg day was a success. I feel myself getting stronger already. I do need to start taking videos to check my form. My right leg is still feeling a little off, not painful but just off. It’s so hard to describe. I decided to skip my speed session and do an easy two mile run instead. Hoping it was the smart decision. Frustrated about my leg. Need to figure out the cause.
January 3rd:
Off Day! Walked Around SeaWorld!
January 4th:
Strength Workout: Upper Body Push Workout
Run: 1.5 Mile Easy Run
Recap: I’m frustrated. My right leg is beyond tight and I think that is what is causing the sore achy feeling when I’m running. I’m keeping things easy and adding in some yoga and stretching. I’ll keep running light and easy until it feels better. Trying to be smart and take a few days now so I don’t have to take a lot of days later. But I’m frustrated and disappointed!
January 5th:
Run: 2 Miles Easy
Cross Training: 10min Indoor Bike
Recap: Just a slow two miles and called it a day. It’s so hard to back off when you are feeling good. Other than a tiny tightness in my leg I feel great. But I know if I push the tightness it could turn into injury. So for now I do extra stretching. Activation drills before my run and then more stretching and massage gun after. Today felt about 80% I didn’t feel tightness until 1.90 miles, so thats a win! I finished with 10mins on the bike to round out movement for the day.
January 6th: Off
January 7th: Off
January 8th: Off
I took the last part of the week off to finally let my leg completely rest. Not excited about it, but I know it is the smart thing to do. Next week I will add in light lifts and easy runs. I am so ready to get back after it!
