Week 1 Recap!
Week 1 Recap: Week one was rough, but awesome at the same time. Life through every obstacle possible to get me to give up on my training plan this week. But I made it happen! I had to switch my off day around, other than that I hit all of my planned runs and even did a couple lifts that I was only planning to start next week. I would call week 1 a super win! Week 1: Monday – 3 Miles & Lift Tuesday – 2 Miles Wednesday – Off/ Long Walk Thursday – 3 Miles & Lift Friday – 2 Miles Saturday – 3 Miles Sunday – 2…

Three Beach Miles and Lazy Day!
The morning started off nice and slow, and ended with three beach miles. We all finally got a good night sleep so it started off great! We started the morning with some relaxing and watching a movie, the topped off the morning with some cinnamon rolls. Solid Morning! After the last few days, my stomach is screaming at me. I need to get back in control of my diet. Nutrition has and always k as will be my struggle. After a relaxing morning we did some cleaning and watched some more movies. After a pretty rough week, it was nice to have a day to decompress. I snuck out around…

Toddler Life and I Almost Skipped My Run.
Toddler Life, it’s wild. They are trying to kill me this week. We started our day around 12:45am. I am still not even sure what caused the wake up. Which pretty much sums up mom life right! We had a little slumber party on the couch until it was decided that 4:45 would be the time to start playing cars. I did not make that decision! It goes without saying, that my morning run was again cancelled. Do you think they know that I just set giant goals for myself and this week was week one for big training? 🤦♀️. Mom life comes first so we played and cuddled the morning…

Walk, Run and Lift!
Wow it’s been a rough few days in our house. I didn’t end up falling asleep until around 2am, so I opted for no morning run. I’m disappointed, but I knew it was the smart decision. We went to pre-school class, played after for a while and then came home for nap time! After some naps we made it out for a short walk to get some sunshine! Always the best afternoon pick me up! Nap time for the boys. Coffee for mom! Win! Win! I then snuck out for a 3 mile run, the weather has been perfect lately. It is always a treat to get out in the…

Rough Night Sleep and Day Off
After a very rough night I decided to turn the alarm off and try and get a few minutes of sleep. Everyone seemed a little off today. We took a drive around 10am to try and get some naps. It was a failed attempt. After returning home we tried a walk. That was also a failed attempt, but the fresh air and sunshine did some good for me! Around 3:00 we decided a beach visit was necessary. It is so nice being so close the the beach. There is just something about the sand in your toes and the sound of the waves that just makes everything better! We then…

Easy Two Miles and An Afternoon Walk
Today was a pretty low key day. On the training plan today was an easy two miles With the transition of cutting off the pacifier for my youngest I didn’t even attempt a morning run. That and the weather was supposed to be perfect, so I knew I wanted to sneak out before dinner and get in a quick few miles in the fresh air and sunshine! We started the day with a pre-school class for my older one, while my younger one and I played! Then we headed out for a short walk, to get some fresh air and sunshine! I was able to sneak in a quick two…

Day in the Life: Day 1 of Base Training 2.0
Day one of the new training plan! 17 Weeks, using the 10% rule, increasing mileage from 15 to 47 miles per week! At least twice a week strength training and some speed work sprinkled in to avoid boredom and burn out! 4:28am: Woke up in a little of a panic. My alarm was supposed to go off around 4:02, but it either didn’t go off, or I turned it off without realizing it (which never really happens for me). Either way I got up and rushed a little to get ready! Thankfully I just have to make it out to the garage to the treadmill. 4:38am: I was on the…

Why I am going back to base training
I was ready to dive right into Project Fast 5k. I had done one round of base training (Read about it HERE) and started to really get into a grove with Project Fast 5k (Read about it HERE). THEN life hit. Let’s go back to the beginning. I have been on a yo-yo come back for YEARS! I could just never get myself back into the groove after stopping competitive running with a coach and team. A car accident followed by two kids in two years, life got in the way. I always kept working out, but never consistent enough to make any progress. Fast forward to a move down…

Weekly Training Log: January 16th-22nd, 2023
January 16th: Off Recap: Decided that an off day was best. Was going to take my run outside in the afternoon, but after a long day I decided an off day was best for the mind and body. January 17th: Workout: Easy Morning 5k Recap: Morning run was back! I stick to there is nothing better! I did an easy 3 miles on the treadmill. I ended the evening with a full body lift. My original goal for the new year was to focus on lifting first, running second. Well my mental health keeps choosing running. In this stage I’m going to put running back first and make it a…

Weekly Training Log: January 9th-15th, 2023
January 9th: Run: Easy 3.1 Miles Recap: Back to morning miles! Felt amazing. Something about the morning miles just hits different! I did an easy 3 to ease back into things. I took a few days off again to let my leg rest. I was hyper aware of it today, and it was a little tight but nothing crazy or painful. I’ll take each run easy and one day at a time until I feel 100%. Spend the rest of the day walking around Disney World! January 10th: Run: Recap: More Morning Miles! Run felt nice and easy. I did the first two miles at a 1% incline, which actually felt great. I…
