Loving The Speed Work!
We spent the morning swimming. I am actually enjoying our early morning swims. We might be coming to my parents early even when they get back just to get some energy out in the pool. Both the kids and I love it!
The storms came in around 2ish. Way earlier than expected. I was able to sneak out for a run around 4ish. It looked like things were clearing up, but there was a chance of another storm coming. I rushed to get out the door to make sure I was able to sneak in a run outside.
It was hot and humid but a great workout. I did a one mile warm-up and then 3x5min at progression tempo, and a half mile cool down. The last 30sec of the last rep were tough. Means the workout was paced pretty good. I last minute decided to add in a little progression to the workout. I’m glad I did. It’s my favorite type of workout. I am LOVING the speed work!
Best part was jumping in the pool post run with the kids! Awesome end to the run!
Getting in my pace work outside it great. I’m terrible at pacing and it’s something I definitely want to get better at! Practicing off the treadmill is helping. I think a mix of speed work on the treadmill and off is amazing for me right now.
I opted to postpone my lift again today. I haven’t been sleeping well and I want to make sure I’m recovering good. I decided that this week will be just three main lifts. I already did Legs and then this weekend I will do a Push day and a Pull day. Still a solid strength routine!
