Friday Favorites: Running Shoes

Good Running Shoes are a MUST. A shoe that doesn’t fit well or isn’t made for your foot type/running style can lead to injury…. and honestly can take the fun out of running altogether! This weeks Friday Favorites is all about Running Shoes!

Below you will find my favorite running shoes. Once I find a shoe it used to be very hard to get me to try anything new. Even new versions of the same style. However, after having two kids and I switched things up. I have been on the hunt for a new shoe that I love. Below are some of my old and new favorites!

Running Shoes:

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 – I ran in the Brooks Adrenalines all throughout college and for a few years post college. They are amazing! During my postpartum days I switched up my shoe to the two below (Saucony Guide and Hoka Clifton), because I felt like the Adrenaline’s didn’t support the extra weight as much. When I need a new shoe I am going to give these another try.

Saucony Guide 14 – I love these shoes! I have run in Saucony shoes on an off since high school, maybe even before that. I took a break when I was in college because our coach always ordered Brooks. They happened to be on sale when I needed new shoes. I now have them in my rotation of shoes

Hoka Clifton 8 – These are now one of my favorites! When it was time for a new shoe I tried a local running store and my favorite Brooks shoe was out of stock, so I switched it up. In full disclosure, it took me about 50 miles of running before I was a fan. My first few runs something just felt off, I wasn’t sure if it was more padding than I was used to, or I needed to break them in, but something was off. After a few weeks of running in them something just clicked and now they are what I reach for the most!

***Remember: Just because I love a shoe, doesn’t mean that it will be perfect for you! I would HIGHLY recommend going to a running store and talk with someone who is qualified and educated on running shoes. Bring your old running or walking shoes with you, they will be able to check the wear on them to decided what type of shoe is best!
