Chiropractor Week 3 and 4 Recap.

Chiropractor Week 3 and 4 recap. The good the bad and the struggles!

Week 3:

Monday.

I was a little sore from moving but overall felt pretty good. I want to be smart so I’m taking it as a rest day.

Tuesday.

Morning run was a success and I felt great. I ran for 30mins which ended up being around 3 miles. The run felt great but as the day went on I could feel the dead leg slowly starting.

This is new. Usually it happens during my run and then goes away.

Wednesday.

I woke up a few times throughout the night with the dead leg discomfort. I am a little frustrated and losing hope and patience.

I decided not to run in the morning. I didn’t want to make anything worse.

When I went to the doctor, she stretched and massaged by hip flexors. She also recommended that I do glute activation exercises and a runners dynamic warm-up before every run. This is something I do before speed work or harder efforts and usually skip before easy runs. I’m going to do my best to do this before every workout.

Thursday.

Moving stress is hitting hard. But I was able to get a morning run in!

My body is feeling a little better but still tight on the right side and my glute still isn’t really activating on the right side.

Friday.

I woke up feeling a little better. I opted not run because it was officially moving day. I had my appointment and it went like every other appointment.

Saturday-Sunday.

Burnt out is an understatement.

Week 4:

Monday.

Appointment was cancelled because of Memorial Day. I tried to take it easy and relax as much as possible after a long weekend. I have taken four days off running.

Tuesday.

I’m craving structure and routine again. My back is feeling a little better but still tight. I ran this morning and my back felt okay. My leg was a little bit of a dead leg still, and I’m losing fitness.

Wednesday.

Appointment went good. Right Glute is sore from the activation exercises. I asked the doctor if I could start running more, she asked that I wait until after we review X-rays next week. I will get X-rays done on Friday and get the progress review on Monday.

Thursday.

Spent the evening at the ER with my son, and had a terrible night sleep. Woke up to rain. So decided against a morning run. Was able to get in a short two mile run later in the afternoon. The glute activation exercises before running are definitely helping. However, I am getting more and more frustrated and impatient that things are working.

Friday.

I woke up feeling pretty good. My appointment went pretty good. We checked range of motion and took follow up X-rays that we are going to discuss on Monday. Hopefully I will get good news and be able to bump up my training!

During the moving process I let my water intake slide. I got back to a gallon of water today and it made all the difference.

Saturday-Sunday.

I stayed on top of a gallon of water both Saturday and Sunday and wow do I need to keep this up. I feel way better.

Sunday I spent the morning writing a new training plan. Including both lifting and running. I was also able to finally sneak out for a 2 mile run.

I’m excited to see how the reevaluation goes on Monday!
